Opus Pathology has been in operation since 1960, when it was initially founded as an independent pathology laboratory in Tennessee. Our laboratory is physician owned and operated which means that we understand the needs of our physician clients and the evolving health care world. Our pathologists have over 100 combined years of experience in providing anatomic and clinical pathology services. Our pathologists' expertise covers all aspects of anatomic and clinical pathology.
Our pathologists are partners with our hospitals and are actively involved in the medical staff. We believe this improves our understanding of our patient's needs as well as our physician partners. We provide medical directorships to the hospitals and independent laboratories throughout the areas that we serve. We partner with internationally recognized LabCorp Reference Laboratory to provide cost effective solutions and prompt resulting for gynecologic cytology and molecular testing and clinical laboratory testing.
Our patient and physician clients are our main focus. A pathologist or customer representative is always available to answer questions or be a guide thru complex laboratory testing. Our client support team is charged with maintaining client satisfaction and supporting their needs. We strive for excellence in customer service by making sure a trained specialist answers every call.
Opus Pathology maintains stringent quality assurance guidelines for peer review and follow-up studies to assure the best quality reporting. A comprehensive quality management program is maintained with resources dedicated to compliance and on-going regulatory changes. Our laboratory is licensed and accredited by state and federal agencies as well as the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and our pathologists serve as inspectors for CAP.
Opus Pathology maintains managed care contract coverage with all major payors. Many options exist for report delivery, including direct fax, online retrieval, or medical record systems integration. Our online portal allows for easy access to patient reports as well as convenient bill payment.
Our pathologists are members of the Tennessee Medical Society, CAP and American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP).
